How this role contributes to our business:
As Product Manager at Katchr, you’ll play a key role in delivering intelligent, reliable, client-facing data solutions.
You’ll join our close-knit team of technical specialists and play a critical role in shaping and executing the roadmap of our legal-tech SaaS platform. You’ll sit at the intersection of customer needs, commercial priorities, and engineering delivery translating product strategy into actionable plans that our Product Owner and development teams can execute.
You’ll ideally have a background in legal software so you can get up to speed on the needs of our customers quickly. Formal training in product management and an understanding of product design is important so that you can work with developers to make our product ambitions a reality.
What the day to day looks like:
Discovery & Definition
- Engage customers, users, and internal teams to identify opportunities and pain points.
- Translate insights into clearly defined problems, hypotheses, and candidate solutions.
- Work with the Head of Product to validate priorities against strategic goals and ROI.
- Evaluate and articulate the value and expected impact of each requirement or opportunity.
- Define scope and MVP criteria before work enters delivery.
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Maintain the product roadmap and ensure it aligns with company strategy in collaboration with the Head of Product and CTO.
- Turn product vision into clear, prioritised initiatives – owning communication to our key stakeholders.
- Coordinate product releases with cross-functional teams (Product Owner, CTO, Engineering, Customer teams).
Feedback, Measurement & Learning
- Track product usage, feedback, and feature ROI.
- Close the feedback loop with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide concise reporting and insights for quarterly product reviews.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the bridge between commercial goals and delivery execution.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to translate strategy into backlog items.
- Work with the CTO and engineering teams on feasibility, technical constraints, risks, and dependencies.
- Communicate roadmap priorities and changes to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity.
- Attend sprint planning or reviews as needed to represent business context - with detailed task breakdown to be managed by the Product Owner.
- Provide clear context, success criteria, and priorities so the delivery team can self-organise effectively.
Technical Skillset:
Candidates who can demonstrate strong skills in the below areas will thrive in this role:
Experience of using AI / Automation tools
- Experience in proactively using AI and Automation tools to improve delivery, ideally in building prototypes.
Understanding of Legal-Tech Domain
- Strong grasp of Law firm operations (Practice Management, Case Management and Risk)
- Familiarity with legal accounting and finance.
- Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory constraints (GDPR, ISO requirements, legal privilege, etc.)
UX / Product Design Literacy
- Ability to read and challenge wireframes and user flows
- Understanding UX best practices for high-trust SaaS products
- Ability to turn complex legal workflows into simple, intuitive user experiences
Where you’ll work:
So we can really help you settle in, you’ll need to attend our Huddersfield hub during onboarding to ensure the right training is provided and you can build relationships. We anticipate this to be once a week in the first month. From there, we support all our team members to choose a working location that’s right for them whether it be our core office or their home.
